“I support University of Kentucky’s Beyond Coal efforts to end our campus’ dependence on coal by investing in renewable energy research and development, guaranteeing no new purchases of mountaintop removal coal, and setting a time line for ending our use of coal in the campus coal plant by 2015. University of Kentucky can lead the nation and the world, but we must start working now to develop solutions that will create clean energy jobs, protect our communities’ health, air, and water, and help solve the climate challenge.”
